The Women On boards graduation ceremony was held at the Armani Hotel, Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The leadership program was launched under the patronage of the wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council and President of Dubai Women Establishment (DWE), in collaboration with Hawkamah, the Institute for Corporate Governance. This marked was the first group of ‘Women Directors Program’ graduates, and I am very proud to have been a part of putting the special occasion together.
I key role for this event was the stage design. My task was to display the joint branding in the best media-friendly way - whilst designing a layout and journey to best suit the proceedings of the event (a panel discussion, an awards ceremony, and an address by HE Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Chairperson and Managing Director of DWE). One requisite was that the stairway had to be hidden but not have its width reduced, which you’ll see was addressed in the floorplan created.
